Documentation
We provide you a range of services including technical writing for end-users or programmers, editing, indexing, technical illustrations, manuscript preparation for publishing, creating proposals and presentations, and many related activities.
Instructional design and training
We can provide a wide range of customized training, from certified Lotus Notes training to end-user training on your applications, or, in some cases, commercial applications.
Web site design and development
We help you identify what you need in your site, then design to meet the needs of your visitors, always focusing on the usability of the site and the value of the content.
One of the first tasks in developing a Web site is to write a comprehensive style guide for all developers to follow. Whether will be part of the development team or not, we are experts at adapting generalized style guides to your particular needs and we can supply this service as a stand-alone deliverable.
Web site usability
In this, our primary service area, we assess your existing site's usability. We have three levels of assessment, but the useful is the usability report.
Search performance
Part of usability, but a specialty area in itself, is an assessment of how well your site does with the various search engines. We can assess that, study your pages, and give you suggestions for improving your site's performance with searches.
Web site project management
Developing anything but a small web site is a complex task, requiring the skills of a diverse team. Creative people often have divergent opinions on site development issues. Developing collaborative teams out of highly-skilled creative people is a specialty of ours. Strong management with the ability to manage scope, budget, and milestones is a requirement for a successful project. Usable Webs has developed processes and methodologies to facilitate a successful outcome.
Localization
We are used to working with translation and localization projects, for Web sites, print media and online help systems. We know how to optimize your English manuals for localization. Our localization affiliates provide translation, editing by another translator, and project management.
